Awards

The Student Leadership Awards will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Wentz Concert Hall Lobby. This event honors student organizations for their leadership during the year and features student performances and food from several Naperville restaurants. Attendees must RSVP online for this event. Nice attire is suggested.

 

Cornerstone

A Cornerstone Day picnic will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Riverwalk Gateway, along the DuPage River next to Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. All members of the community are invited to this event, which commemorates the college’s move to Naperville in 1870. Free entrees from Chartwells and several Naperville restaurants will be served.

 

The Union

The Union will feature singer and guitarist Andrew Ripp at 7 p.m. Friday at The Union, 129 W. Benton Ave. Ripp comes from Palatine, Ill., and broke into the national music scene as a songwriter. Career talk

Olin Joynton will speak to students interested in teaching or administration at a community college from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Fireside Lounge in the White Activities Center. Joynton is president of Alpena Community College in Michigan.  For more information, contact Career Development at 630-637-5141.

 

Student music

North Central will present several student musical performances next week at the Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center.

The Instrumental Honors Recital will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, the Concert Winds Spring Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, and the Women’s Chorale final concert of the season will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Tickets for the Concert Winds Concert and the Women’s Chorale Concert are each $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. Call 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit northcentralcollege.edu/showtix.
